Recreation

Bear Island homeowners are also members of the umbrella organization called The Villages of Palm Beach Lakes Property Association, Inc. , or Villages POA, which is responsible for maintaining the street medians and parks, tennis courts and three swimming pools for the homeowners and lessees in the various communities that comprise the Villages. As a Bear Island homeowner, you can enjoy one of these parks:

  • Faircloth Park: Located at 3031 Shiloh Drive, this park features four lighted tennis courts, four racquetball courts and a sand volleyball court. There’s also a jogging trail, kiddie pool and a 148,000-gallon swimming pool. The park also has two picnic tables and a charcoal grill (available on a first-come first-served basis), as well as a recreation room that can be reserved for HOA meetings or small gatherings.
  • Perini Park: Located at 2900 Cumberland Drive, this park features eight tennis courts, four racquetball courts, a basketball court, a sand volleyball court, two softball fields, a 172,000-gallon swimming pool with a separate kiddie pool.
  • Stamford Park: Located at 2100 Saratoga Road, this park features an adult pool, kiddie pool, two tennis courts, volleyball court, bocce court and a multi-purpose playing field in a peaceful country setting with a small picnic area for quiet relaxation.

In order to use any of these Villages POA parks, you must have a pass, which you can get at any of the facilities. Bring with you a copy of your recorded warranty deed or lease agreement and a picture ID showing your address. Have a great time!
